Letter from the Executive Director

Dear TXOA Families,

Welcome to Texas Online Academy! I am so glad you are here.

Choosing a school for your child is a big decision, and choosing virtual education is about much more than choosing where your child will learn. It is choosing a partnership. At TXOA, we believe the strongest virtual schools are built when students, families, teachers, and school leaders work together with a shared commitment to student success.

Our vision is simple: Every child is known. Every family is connected. Every student is equipped.

That vision drives the work we do every day.

We want our students to be known not just by their names or their grades, but for who they are as learners and individuals. We want our families to feel connected to their teachers, their school, and a community that is here to support them. Most importantly, we want every student equipped with the knowledge, skills, confidence, and habits they need for whatever comes next.

At TXOA, virtual learning does not mean learning alone. Our Texas-certified teachers provide meaningful live instruction, academic support, feedback, and opportunities for students to engage with their classmates. Our school leaders, counselors, support teams, and school partners work alongside our teachers to ensure students have the resources and support they need to grow.

Learning Coaches are an essential part of our TXOA team. You know your child in a way no one else does, and that makes your partnership incredibly important. We ask our Learning Coaches to stay connected, help establish strong daily routines, communicate regularly with teachers, celebrate progress, and reach out when support is needed. Your student’s teachers bring their expertise in teaching and learning, and you bring your knowledge of your child. When we work together, we can provide students with the support they need to be successful.

We also believe in high expectations. Our goal is not simply for students to participate in school. We want them to learn, grow, build relationships, take ownership of their learning, and be prepared for their next step. That takes commitment from all of us, and our team is committed to doing that work alongside you.

Whether this is your family’s first experience with virtual school or you have been learning online for years, I hope TXOA becomes a place where your student feels known, supported, challenged, and proud to belong.
