Elsie Wetzel serves as the Executive Director of Texas Online Academy (TXOA) K–2 Programs, where she provides strategic leadership for virtual education programs across Texas. With more than 20 years of experience in education, including over 10 years in campus and district administration, Elsie has served as a teacher, instructional coach, principal, and executive leader.
Throughout her career, Elsie has been passionate about early literacy, high-quality instruction, school improvement, and developing systems that empower both educators and students. She believes every child deserves access to a rigorous, engaging, and personalized learning experience that prepares them for long-term success.
As Executive Director, Elsie partners with district leaders, school staff, teachers, and families to ensure TXOA delivers exceptional instruction, strong student outcomes, and meaningful learning experiences. Her leadership focuses on innovation, collaboration, and building a culture where students, staff, and families thrive together.
